Summer Production Update
After a slow spring, foreign production activity has picked up considerably this summer and is expected to stay busy through the fall and winter with a number of features and a steady stream of US TV series. Although BC based production remains slow, it is encouraging that some new domestic projects have been greenlit including "Endgame" and "Mr. Young" as well as returning series "Hiccups", "Ice Pilots NWT" and "Sanctuary".

As of September 1st, BCFC's internal film list has 39 projects listed, including 11 feature films, 2 DVD features, 7 MOWs, and 19 TV series. This compares to 32 projects (8 features, 1 DVD feature, 9 MOWs, 1 pilot, 1 mini-series and 12 TV series) at the same time last year.

Currently, 20th Century Fox is filming "Ceasar: Rise of the Apes", a prequel to the "Planet of the Apes" franchise starring John Lithgow, Freido Pinto, James Franco and Tom Felton and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules", starring Zachary Gordon, Steve Zahn and Rachel Harris. "This Means War", a romantic comedy starring Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon, "Final Destination 5", "The Tall Man" and "Marley and Me: The Puppy Years" will start shooting in September.

B.C. is also busy with television series production. Warner Bros. has six series shooting including season 10 of "Smallville", season 6 of "Supernatural", season 3 of "Fringe", season 2 of both "V" and "Human Target" and season 1 of "Hellcats".  Other series in production include season 4 of "Eureka", season 5 of "Psych", season 3 of "Sanctuary" and season 2 of "Stargate Universe", "Life Unexpected", and Nickelodeon's "The Troop".  New TV series in production in BC include "Chaos", "Facing Kate", "Endgame", "Health Nutz", "Mr. Young", and "The Haunting Hour".
