Film Unions Master Agreement Ratified with Three Year Pact to March 2012
Negotiating producers from the CFTPA - BC Producers’ Branch and the AMPTP Canadian Affiliates have renewed agreements with the largest group of film and television employees in British Columbia. The balloting on the agreement resulted in the endorsement of the three-year pact. The agreement is effective June 7, 2009 through to March 2012.
The Council member unions are Motion Picture Studio Production Technicians, IATSE Local 891, Teamsters Union Local No. 155, and International Photographers IATSE Local 669. Through its member Unions, the BC Council of Film Unions represents over 10,000 employees who work behind the scenes in the film and television industry. This agreement is the sixth Master Agreement since the formation of the Council in 1996. These agreements have provided a stable labour relations framework essential to the continued growth of the motion picture industry in British Columbia. The agreement provides a 2% annual increase and significant new contributions to the Health & Welfare programs. The agreement is expected to stimulate continued growth in the British Columbia film and television industry. For more information contact: Tom Adair B.C.
