CBC Vancouver "Film Lives Here"
CBC Vancouver's facility has been busy with production in recent months and its reputation as a film-friendly location is growing. A number of productions have recently used the facility as a location including the TV series "V", "Psyche", "Facing Kate" and the feature film, "Tron: Legacy".
The facility offers over 20,000 square feet of studio facilities, ranging from 5,700 sq. ft. to 800 sq. ft. These studios are capable of accommodating any number of events - feature films, TV series, commercials, music videos, recording sessions, rehearsals, concerts, performances, special events and meetings. Amenities include dressing, green and make-up rooms, production workstations and offices equipped with desks, chairs and phones, fully functional kitchen, underground parking, carpentry shop and Wifi coverage.
According to Cathy Hunt, CBC's manager of Community Engagement, to help facilitate production, visiting crews are assigned a CBC staging leader to assist with the shoot and ensure that everything runs smoothly. This proactive approach is well received by productions.
Phil Pacaud, location manager for the alien invasion series "V", comments that "CBC is a turnkey location with extremely professional and capable staff. They are willing to go to the extreme to make your production successful there. From the stages to the hallways to the great exterior breeze way "V" has been able to film many different looks at CBC. It is refreshing to work at a location that just gets it."
