BC Film Commission Receives Premier's Innovation Award
The BC Film Commission received a bronze award at the Premier's Regional Innovation Awards, held in Vancouver on January 15th. The Premier’s Innovation and Excellence Awards Program was launched by Premier Gordon Campbell in 2004. These awards recognize exceptional work done by members of the BC Public Service.
The BC Film Commission was recognized for its innovative shift to e-service delivery, stemming from its award winning website and extending to its user friendly client interface. Building on the success of its digital Photo Library system, the BC Film Commission recognized the opportunities that electronic delivery, digital technology and expanding broadband provided to virtually every aspect of its operations. Balancing creativity with practicality, BCFC’s new e-business strategy has enabled it to more effectively meet the creative needs of filmmakers, integrate and disseminate information to its diverse target audiences and develop a vibrant online network that has been instrumental to the success and development of British Columbia's motion picture industry. The purpose of the Premier's Innovation Awards are to showcase the best examples of innovation and excellence, strengthen pride and identity among employees internally and help build the external reputation of the public service. Kudos to all of the staff at the BC Film Commission and keep up the great work!
