With the help of numerous volunteers, local businesses and dedicated members of Vancouver’s film industry, the
Oppenheimer Park Christmas Dinner has expanded from
feeding 300 in 1988 to
over 2,800 local residents in 2006.
Over the years truckloads of clothing, toiletries, warm blankets and winter gear have been distributed to
those who may otherwise go without. In addition, the Oppenheimer Park Christmas fund has raised
thousands of dollars in charitable donations for
several downtown eastside organizations including the Union Gospel Mission, Triage Emergency Services, Carnegie Centre and Powell Place Women’s Shelter.
Christmas Dinner will be served on
Saturday, December 22nd. For further information about the Oppenheimer Christmas Dinner and how to help out,
