OTTAWA, July 11, 2011-- The Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) is thrilled to announce the latest deadline for one of its most successful and longest running training initiatives, the Telefilm Producer Trainee Program. The program will offer six placements across Canada with a focus on creating professional development opportunities for filmmakers of visible minority or Aboriginal backgrounds.
 
“The Telefilm Producer Trainee Program has been instrumental in reducing barriers and providing access to the industry for minority producers,” said Susanne Vaas, VP of Business Affairs & Recording Secretary, CMPA. “We thank Telefilm Canada for its continued support of this initiative.”
